Abstract Description : Transitioning from traditional schooling to a virtual environment can be overwhelming for families—especially those unfamiliar with online learning systems, communication expectations, and the role of the Learning Coach. In this high-impact session, attendees will gain actionable strategies and ideas to build or improve onboarding experiences that help families feel informed, empowered, and engaged from day one.

Drawing from real-world experience across instructional, design, and coaching roles, this session will explore how to bridge the gap between home and virtual school through parent-focused orientation, intentional communication, and practical family supports that can be implemented immediately.

Participants will leave with ideas to enhance their family engagement model—whether starting from scratch or refining an existing process—and walk away with a renewed understanding of how strong family partnerships can directly influence student success in virtual learning.
