Abstract Description : How do teachers manage classrooms when the classroom is virtual? This session shares findings from a qualitative study exploring how K–12 teachers in synchronous virtual environments use classroom management routines to support engagement, learning, and behavior. Attendees will discover practical strategies such as transition activities, social-emotional check-ins, and real-time interaction tools that teachers are using to create structured, supportive virtual classrooms. Discuss how teachers successfully support student engagement and behavior synchronously. Learn how educators adapt traditional routines to the online space and understand effective, research-backed practices. Leave with practical strategies for professional development and classroom management in virtual education.
