Abstract Description : In this session, we will explore actionable strategies for integrating neuroscience principles into virtual curriculum design to enhance student learning and engagement. Participants will delve into techniques such as multisensory learning, which leverages audio, visual, and interactive elements to cater to diverse learning styles and improve retention. We will discuss the importance of managing cognitive load by structuring digital content into digestible segments and implementing spaced repetition to strengthen memory. The session will also highlight the role of emotional connection and motivation through storytelling and real-world applications, fostering active learning and resilience through problem-solving activities and mastery-oriented feedback. Attendees will leave with a toolkit of neuroscience-informed practices for creating effective, engaging, and student-centered digital learning experiences.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to identify and describe at least three neuroscience principles applicable to virtual curriculum design, explaining how these principles can enhance student engagement and learning outcomes in a digital environment.
Participants will develop a practical plan to incorporate neuroscience-informed strategies, such as real-world applications and active learning, into their existing virtual curriculum, aiming to improve cognitive retention and cater to diverse learning needs effectively.
