Abstract Description : As districts face teacher shortages, budget constraints, and evolving individualized student needs, sustaining instructional programs demands innovation. This session highlights how a community of 70 New York districts are using dynamic digital learning collaborative models to create flexible, inclusive, and connected learning environments within and between one another.
Through these models, educators use foundational learning platforms to teach and collaborate from classrooms, homes, or devices (i.e from anywhere), while students also engage from any location — ensuring continuity and equitable access. Participants will explore concrete strategies for leveraging these learning tools with fidelity to share virtual courses, access remote teachers, and develop programs for both in-person and remote students.
Real-world examples will illustrate how these models expand learning opportunities and strengthen long-term sustainability of local instructional programs. School leaders will gain actionable insights to help them replicate and adapt strategies and practices presented in this session within their school communities.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to determine how intra- and inter-district digital learning collaborative models can be launched or expanded in their own schools to reinforce and expand instructional capacity and deliver learning when, where, and how it is most effective.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to identify key elements of the digital learning models presented and outline initial steps to inform strategic shifts in instructional programs and practices, with a focus on implementing equitable and appropriate learning models tailored to their respective school communities.
