Abstract Description : The Learning Commons at Manheim Township High School is a welcoming academic hub open to all students, including those not enrolled in online courses. It offers a supportive environment for academic help, study space, collaboration, make-up work, and targeted instruction by district teachers. Students can schedule sessions for academic support or secure testing with flexible options, emphasizing advance notice while accommodating last-minute needs when possible. This inclusive space serves full-time, blended, and non-MTVA students, reflecting its foundation in supporting all learners, not just those in the virtual academy. Growth and impact are highlighted through data on student participation, session frequency, and attendance across the Learning Commons, MTVA supports, and Testing Center. This collaborative, flexible, and data-informed model fosters student success and connection within the school community.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to view and interpret data collected over the past two and a half years from the Learning Commons, MTVA Support, Testing Center, and Targeted Support programs. They will identify growth patterns in student engagement, academic support sessions, and service utilization, and describe how collaborative structures and flexible scheduling have enhanced academic outcomes and fostered a sense of belonging
Participants will also be able to demonstrate ways to leverage Learning Commons resources to support learners across all academic levels and apply insights from data trends to inform future support strategies, scheduling practices, and inclusive learning environments.
