Abstract Description : Collaboration with remote staff is a significant challenge to virtual school leadership. Over-sized video conference sessions often result in lackluster participation and collaboration. When staff and school leaders work largely in isolation from each other, responsibility for school improvement, professional culture, and initiatives shifts to leaders and central office staff, while remote staff lack opportunities to contribute or stay informed. This presentation will provide a framework for engaging remote virtual school staff in shared leadership to accomplish school goals while building a culture of collaboration, ownership, and continuous improvement. This session will provide valuable insights and strategies for virtual school leaders seeking to improve staff collaboration, productivity, and ownership of the school's mission. By attending this session, participants will gain a practical strategy that can be implemented in just a few hours, which will energize staff and promote collaboration in their virtual schools.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to engage remote staff in collaborative work to tackle multiple school initiatives.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to build a system of shared leadership among all staff members in their school.
