Abstract Description : In this session, I’ll draw on strategies from Peter Liljedahl’s Building Thinking Classrooms in Mathematics to show how to design lessons that promote deep thinking and conceptual understanding, where students within the math classroom are excited, curious and eager to engage with the curriculum. Participants will explore practical approaches to structuring tasks, fostering student reasoning, and cultivating a classroom culture where thinking is visible, valued, and celebrated. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies to create learners who are confident, motivated, and happy to engage in challenging mathematical concepts.
