Dr. Rachel McBroom serves as the Chief Academic Officer for the North Carolina Virtual Public School, leading statewide initiatives to expand innovative and equitable digital learning opportunities for K–12 students. With more than 25 years of experience in public education, she has served at the classroom, district, and state levels, as well as in higher education as a faculty member, program administrator, and Director of Educator Preparation for the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction. Dr. McBroom co-chaired the most recent revision of the National Standards for Quality Online Teaching and remains deeply committed to advancing instructional practices that empower educators and engage students in meaningful online learning experiences.
