Abstract Description : Virtual learning is no longer an experiment—it’s a core part of K–12 education. Yet leadership practices haven’t kept pace with this shift. Based on my dissertation, How Virtual Administrator Behaviors Impact Instruction, this session reveals what virtual teachers say most impacts their practice—for better or worse. Participants will learn how administrator communication styles, visibility, and feedback approaches shape instructional quality in online settings. We’ll examine common leadership pitfalls and identify specific, research-backed behaviors that increase teacher efficacy and student success. Attendees will leave with actionable strategies to improve virtual instructional leadership—strategies they can apply immediately to strengthen relationships, support teacher growth, and elevate online learning outcomes.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will be able to describe three leadership behaviors that positively impact virtual teachers’ instructional practice.
At the end of this session, participants will be able to implement at least two communication strategies that improve teacher engagement and instructional quality in online settings.
